Who we are

The GAA is a community-based volunteer organisation promoting Gaelic Games, culture, and lifelong participation.  Wicklow GAA has always been at the heart of the community in our County.  Since the foundation of the GAA in 1884, Wicklow GAA have facilitated the playing of Gaelic Games and the promotion of these games at the core of Irish identity and culture.

Wicklow GAA shares and celebrates the Values of the wider GAA community – Community Identity, Amateur Status, Inclusiveness, Respect, Player Welfare and Teamwork.  The GAA’s vision is that everybody has the opportunity to be welcomed to take part in our games and culture, to participate fully, to grow and develop and to be inspired to keep a lifelong engagement with our Association.

The traditions of those who have gone before are crucial in understanding our passion for the GAA.

Why are we fundraising?

The aim of this fundraiser is to further increase the investment being made into our Coaching & Development resources.  Through this fundraiser, and other initiatives, Wicklow GAA aims to increase the number of coaches we have visiting our schools & Clubs, thus increasing the participation rates across the County
